Hello, I’m Mair and I’ve been making pictures since I could hold a crayon but I’ve been running my animation and illustration business since 2010 and established the company in 2012.
I’ve always been interested in telling stories, sharing knowledge and problem solving through images. As I kid, I loved illustrated fact books and encyclopedias, cartoons, anime, comic books and video games which all still influences my artwork today!
My speciality is character focused animation where I work with my clients to develop characters and scenarios to tell a story and communicate a message. Over the years, I’ve worked on all sorts of projects but I’m particularly passionate about sustainability and the environment, education and both physical and mental health. I love the idea that awareness can be raised and positive change can be made through visual storytelling. I’ve won some awards related to this and I’m a member of the East Midlands Low Carbon Business Network.
As a hands on, independent creative business owner, I’m experienced with idea generation, script writing, storyboarding, art direction, character design, illustration, animation production and all the project management, communication and organisational stuff that goes with that. I also work with a team of creatives in the East Midlands who help with other production tasks.
Not only do I thoroughly enjoy working on the artistic, technical and management parts of projects but clients are able to deal directly with the creative person producing their project.
Currently I live in Derby, UK with my husband but I grew up in County Durham in the North East of England. When I was quite young, my family and I lived in New Zealand.
Feel free to contact me if you’d like to talk over a project idea.
