Following the Wash and Squash recycling animation, Derby City Council's Waste Management asked me to create another video to promote the use of washable / reuseable nappies (or diapers in the USA). Using washable nappies instead of disposable nappies can reduce waste and have other benefits. The animation touches on this but also explains how to use modern washable nappies as the council reported many people are concerned they are time consuming and difficult to use. The script was written by me based on content from the council's website. I then sketched out the script in the form of a storyboard and animatic video. After some revision rounds, the council approved these and I illustrated the storyboards. After these were approved, a professional voiceover was recorded and I began animation production. The finished video is being used by council on their website and social media. I designed the artwork in Adobe Illustrator and animated in After Effects.
What the client said
Working with Mair was so simple. She took the time to understand exactly what we were looking for, and this made the creative process quick and easy. She has a keen eye for detail and an instinct for what looks and sounds good, and has created to date two very effective and engaging animations for us which have proven popular with our residents. I would recommend Mair to anyone wanting a professional and eye-catching animation.
